How much water does my pool hold?

Volume is dependent on size and shape of the pool. Check out our Residential Water Services page: https://www.mylinspoolwater.com/residential-water-services for charts of estimates!

How much does it cost to fill my pool?

The cost to fill a pool depends on many factors, including location, availability, and amount of water needed. Call us, email us, submit a webform, or contact us on social media for a free personalized quote!

Is my location in the Mylin’s Pool Water service area?

We service all of Cecil and Harford counties in Maryland, most of Baltimore County, as well as limited areas of New Castle County, Delaware, and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

How much water do the trucks carry?

Each of our tractor-trailers carries 6,000 gallons of water per load. We also have a straight truck, which carries 4,000 gallons of water per load, in our fleet.

Does Mylin’s Pool Water offer partial loads?

We do not offer partial loads. We transport and charge by the full load (6,000 or 4,000 gallons depending on the truck.)

How much hose does each truck carry?

Each truck carries 300 feet of hose–that’s approximately the length of a football field.

Does Mylin’s Pool Water offer weekend deliveries?

We do offer Saturday deliveries on a case-by-case basis depending on the schedule and driver availability. Sunday deliveries are subject to emergency pricing.

What type of pools does Mylin’s Pool Water fill?

We service all types of pools, including fiberglass, plaster, concrete, gunite, and those with liners. We also service store-bought pools that are designed for self-install as long as these pools have a supportive frame around them (meaning they are not inflatable) and are installed properly upon the arrival of our drivers.

How soon can I get on the schedule?

The schedule varies throughout the year and can be impacted by the weather. During the busiest time of the year (May-July), we generally book about 3 weeks out. To help serve as many clients as possible during the height of our season, we offer a waitlist for each service area specifically for smaller orders, like single-load jobs. If we have a cancellation or other opening in the schedule, we will contact customers on the waitlist to offer same-day service at no extra charge.

How much notice do I need to provide to get on the schedule?

The schedule varies throughout the year and we do our best to complete jobs that are local to each other every day. We are usually at our busiest between May and July, when we may need several weeks’ notice to schedule a job. Sometimes we only need a few days’ notice. Scheduling also depends on the amount of water that needs to be delivered–single-load jobs are easier to work into a busy schedule than a multi-load job. In short, the sooner you schedule, the better.

Does Mylin’s Pool Water offer specific arrival times or appointments?

We do not offer appointments or guarantee arrival times. The transportation world involves too many variables to be able to do so. Barring unforeseeable circumstances, we guarantee a delivery day and do our best to offer a time window of morning or afternoon. If requested, we can contact you when the driver is filling the truck for your job, which would provide a 30-60-minute notice. For new installations, we do our best to arrive as, or soon after, the installation crew finishes their work.

Where does the water come from?

All water is drawn from approved and regulated county water supply hydrants, which Mylin’s Pool Water is permitted to use. Yes, we pay for the water.

Is the water treated?

All water carried and delivered in Mylin’s Pool Water trucks is clean potable water–drinking water, just like you would get from your tap at home. Any chemicals, salt, or other additives desired by the customer need to be added after delivery.

How many trucks are sent to each job?

We can guarantee one truck at each job, meaning for multi-load jobs, the driver will make several trips between the hydrant and the job site. How long each round trip takes depends on the location of the job site. In some cases, the schedule may allow for two or three trucks to be sent to the same job.

What if I change my mind about the number of loads I want?

The numbers of loads and gallons required are usually estimates, so we understand orders might change. We always schedule customers based on the maximum number of loads the estimate implies. (For example, if your pool needs 15,000 gallons with a tractor-trailer, that’s between two and three loads, so we’d schedule you for three.) That’s because it’s always possible to cancel a load the same day–it’s not usually possible to add a load the same day. If you decide you’d like to cancel a load for a multi-load job, you must inform the driver before he leaves the job site to fill for that load. Changes made after the driver’s departure will be subject to the full price for that additional load. Requests for more loads than originally ordered will be handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the day’s schedule.

Do I need to be there for the water to be delivered?

As long as we can freely access the job (meaning no locked gates, dogs outside, pool covers that have not been removed, etc.), you do not need to be there.

How and when do I pay?

We require payment at the time of service; however, you pay when all the water is delivered. This ensures the job is completed prior to payment and allows flexibility for customers who need to make changes to their order or who are not home at the time of delivery.

Can I tip the driver?

Absolutely! While gratuities are never expected, they are always appreciated. Our drivers are knowledgeable, experienced, and work extremely hard to provide top-notch service to our customers. We cannot add gratuities to credit card payments, though, so please provide cash if you’re feeling generous.

What’s the latest you will start a job?

We try not to begin multi-load jobs after 3:00 p.m. Our drivers start at 6:00 a.m. each day, so by the late afternoon, they’ve already worked long hours and multi-load jobs often take 4+ hours to complete. We put the safety of our drivers and customers before all else. Smaller jobs will often be started and completed in the late afternoon.
